TORTUGUERO CANALS AND LIMON CITY TOUR

 

 

 

 

 

 

Our bilingual guide will greet you early in the morning on the gangway. Once we pick you up we will drive to the dock where we will board the covered boat and enjoy a 2 ½ hours cruise through the jungle canals of Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast and have the opportunity to see common wildlife of the area such as sloth’s, monkeys, iguanas, caymans, aquatic birds, turtles, etc.

Afterwards, enjoy a delicious lunch outside on Hotel Maribu Caribe’s terrace, while taking in the magnificent panoramic view of the sea. (Lunch time: 1 HR)

After lunch, we will drive through the city of Limon for a one-hour city highlights tour before taking you back to your cruise ship.

 

SLOTH SANCTUARY AND CANOPY TOUR

 

 

 

 

 

Our bilingual guide will greet you early in the morning on the gangway. Our first stop will be to visit the Sloth Sanctuary, otherwise known as the Animal Rescue Centre or Aviarios del Caribe. Here you will spend approximately 2 hours exploring the property by boat and on foot. Afterwards we drive about an hour Almonds and Corals Lodge to enjoy a delicious lunch. Next, get ready to take part in the "Monkey Crazy Canopy Ride", located on the property of Almonds and Corals Lodge. Here you we will experience your adrenaline rise as you zip between tree tops in a system of various cables. Canopy tour is about 1½ - 2 hours long.

After the ride enjoy the surroundings of Almonds and Corals Lodge, its forests, its fauna and its beach, before taking you back to your cruise ship.

 

LIMON CITY TOUR AND TORTUGUERO CANALS

 

 

 

 

 

Our bilingual guide will arrive early in the morning to Limon and will greet you on the gangway. He will be holding a sign with your name on it. From the port we set of to explore the city of Limon and show you the highlights of this Carribbean influenced town. (1 hour tour of the city) Our first stop will be to visit the Sloth Sanctuary, otherwise known as the Animal Rescue Centre or Aviarios del Caribe. Here you will spend approximately 2 hours exploring the property by boat and on foot.

Once at the dock, board a covered boat and enjoy a 1¼ hour cruise through the jungle canals of Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast and have the opportunity to see common wildlife of the area such as sloth’s, monkeys, iguanas, caymans, aquatic birds, turtles, etc.

Final stop, will be at Hotel Maribu Caribe, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch on the hotel’s terrace over looking a beautiful panoramic view of the sea below.

 

LIMON CITY TOUR AND SLOTH SANCTUARY

 

 

 

 

 

 

Our bilingual guide will greet you early in the morning on the gangway. From the port we set of to explore the city of Limon and show you the highlights of this Caribbean influenced town. (1hour tour of the city). Located on the Caribbean coast the capital of Limon Province, and is located on a bay in the swampy Caribbean coastal lowland. It is a leading port of the country and a terminus of the Northern Railway to San Jose. Exports include bananas, coffee, cocoa, and coconuts. Puerto Limon is the site of a cathedral and a large trading market. The city was built in 1871 on the site of the Native American village of Cariari, which was visited by Christopher Columbus in 1502. Prospering after the construction of the railroad in 1890, it was the leading banana port of Costa Rica until the 1930s.

Our second stop will be to visit the Sloth Sanctuary, enjoy an unforgettable trip through the magnificent fresh water canals and lagoons formed in the Delta of the Estrella River, one of the largest rivers on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica. A delightful experience awaits you at Aviarios del Caribe, Costa Rica’s newest privately owned Wildlife Sanctuary only twenty miles from the Port of Limon. Your "Jungle Journey" begins when you board their safe, silent fiberglass canoes and our guide rows you silently through the natural waterways. You are surrounded by the soothing beauty of the lush tropical vegetation of this exuberant lowland rain forest. In this protected setting, they have identified 312 species (and still counting), along with other creatures such as caiman, coati-mundi, kinkajous, anteaters, monkeys, river otters, turtles, lizards and countless butterflies, all of which inhabit these rich Caribbean lowlands.

Afterwards we will drive to Hotel Maribu Caribe, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch on the hotel’s terrace over looking a beautiful panoramic view of the sea below.

MONKEY CRAZY CANOPY RIDE

 

 

 

 

 

This is a great place for magnificent views from the tree tops while you are on the platforms and also walking in our bridges in some of the tracks. This is an opportunity to see the jungle from another perspective and surely you will have the chance to watch some wildlife from above and your guide can tell you about the different species that might appear, but even more amazing it will be to see the Natura Park with a Bri-Bri Indian Village from above where an aborigine family lives in a very traditional way with the typical thatch buildings. A snack at Almonds and Corals Lodge is included.

 

ATLANTIC AERIAL TRAM

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Once we pick you up we will drive to the first Rain Forest Aerial Tram ever built takes you over an expansive private nature preserve on Costa Rica's Atlantic Coast. Located 50 minutes from San José, our capital city, we are a sanctuary which shelters an eco-tourism and research park unlike any in the world... we are talking about the Rain Forest Aerial Tram –Atlantic.

The Rain Forest Aerial Tram – Atlantic is a 475-hectare (1,200-acre) private reserve, it shares a 10 km border with Braulio Carrillo National Park and constitutes a buffer zone between the park and farming lands.

The park´s multiple gateways take you to each unique rainforest dimension: flights above the canopy treetop, guided nature hikes for all levels of physical ability, a snake exhibit (with more than 10 reptile species), a multi-colored Frog and Butterfly Garden, bird watching and opportunities to overnight at the Rain Forest Lodge whose walls all but blend right into the forest.

SAN JOSE CITY TOUR

 

 

 

 

 

 

Our guides will pick you up at the gangway to take you to the capital city, then heads to the residential area of Rorhmoser, and continues on to Sabana Sur. The tour continues along the Paseo Colón on the way to the National Theatre, after a guided visit to this architectural masterpiece, we will take a short walk over the Plaza de la Cultura to visit the Gold Museum. After this visits we will take you by the Circuito Judicial and on to the Supreme Court of Justice, continue our city sightseeing, taking a close look at the Casa Amarilla, The National Park, The National Library, The Electoral Supreme Court, and the old neighbourhoods of San Jose (Amón – Otoya & Toumón).

Before we head back to the cruise ship, we will visit Moravia town, where you will find many different souvenir stores with best of the Costa Rican artisans and you will be able to have lunch or snacks on your own at one of the restaurants of the town.

In this option our bilingual driver guide will meet you on the gangway at the time you request us to pick you up and give you the choice of going where ever you want for 4 to 6 hours. We provide you with an air-conditioned mini-van, a bilingual guide driving for you and a cooler with bottles of water. You decide what time you want to be picked-up, where and what you would like to visit.
